The President today lifted the executive ban on offshore oil drilling, putting pressure on the Congress to act. At this point, the only barrier standing between the American people and lower gas prices is the Democratic Party. Remember, when the Democrats took control of the Congress, oil was trading at less than $75 a barrel. Last Friday, oil closed at $145.
We all love paying close to $4.50 a gallon for gas, don't we? Let's do our part to keep Pelosi and the gang around, shall we?
Now I'm willing to listen to what any candidate has to say, and I've never been one to blindly vote strictly on party lines, but if you happen to be one of those people who do NOT like paying close to $4.50 a gallon, then remember this: a vote for ANY Democrat in ANY one of the 435 Congressional districts nationwide is a vote for Nancy Pelosi and the $145/barrel Congress.

Pelosi
Well said!
I hope you are kidding
Gulf of Mexico has been open to drilling for years (and there's more accessable oil there) and we still haven't figured out (or have all the technology) to pump enough oil to even make a dent (and the price has what? tripled in the last few years). Shale conversion is a joke if you are looking for oil in ANWAR or off the coast. Price will only be affected by significant decrease in demand, which isn't going to happen any time soon.
P.S.
Look at what the price of oil has done since the President lifted the ban... the national average is now below $4. You liberals like to point out that it would take seven years to get oil from off-shore-drilling, but the fact is that the market benefits from something called expectations.
It's Economics 101... which is probaby too advanced of a class for most liberals.
well i didn't say anything
well i didn't say anything about ANWR or the Gulf.. but if you want to bring up that topic, then that's cool. the Gulf of Mexico is under the same restriction that ANWR is. the Congress must lift their ban in order for the lift to mean anything.
furthermore, it is simply inaccurate to say that price will not be affected by supply.
